Have you also started intermittent fasting in order to lose some weight? Did you then realize that the method not only makes a difference on the scales, but also in your attitude?

You are not the only one feeling this way! Intermittent fasting works on so many levels. In this blog post, you’ll learn about the fascinating effects intermittent fasting has on your mind. We’ll show you how to benefit from the method on a mental level.

Intermittent fasting is primarily about conscious breaks from eating. That sounds pretty simple. But these breaks don’t just affect your body. They also influence your consciousness, your attitude and your – let’s call it – inner state of mind.

Intermittent fasting works from the inside out

1. Conscious breaks from eating make you more independent.

By fasting you are giving your body a break on a regular basis:

  • Your blood sugar and insulin levels normalize.
  • You learn to distinguish real hunger from cravings.
  • You’re less hungry and get full faster.

In other words, intermittent fasting frees you from the feeling that you “have” to eat constantly. You’re no longer acting as if remote-controlled, but make conscious decisions about when and how much you eat. This makes you more independent and gives you freedom.

2. Fasting provides you with structure and support.

You eat within a fixed time, you fast for a fixed time. This helps you to structure your day and makes you feel safe. Especially when stress is at high levels, intermittent fasting can be your anchor, your rhythm that gives you stability.

3. You create new, healthy routines.

In contrast to many crash diets, intermittent fasting supports you in getting rid of old and unpleasant habits.

First of all, the breaks from eating help you to become really aware of your previous, unconscious, and sometimes also bad habits. You start to really grapple with them. This allows you to replace them with new ones step by step, at your own pace.

4. You improve your relationship with yourself.

Intermittent fasting can help you build a more positive mindset. Over time, you’ll develop a better sense of your needs and learn to listen to yourself better. In this way, you strengthen your inner balance.

Intermittent fasting can do so much more for you

You see: Intermittent fasting isn’t just a weight loss method. It has the potential to push you forward on so many levels. We invite you to engage with it with all your senses. Trust in yourself. You will find your way!

Take the chance to evolve and rediscover yourself with intermittent fasting. Give yourself time, be patient and you will be rewarded with great results.

    Awesome!

I never thought of losing weight that way before. Now I understand the importance of fasting in body, mind, and spirit. So I’m committing myself to it. I started with 18-6. Let’s see what it can do for me during the first week.

I always knew that losing weight came from mind over matter. I had to banish the foods that I enjoy in order to lose weight. But what was the point of getting through day by day if I could never enjoy the “now”. This time I feel that trying to fast is not only doable but like your article said…it will strengthen my mind. As I see it learning patience, learning how to adjust and losing weight is the perfect combination.
